DCLM Sincere Milk 26 October 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — I Do Not Know The Man
Topic: I Do Not Know The Man
Bible Reading: Matthew 26:69-74 (KJV)
69Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
70But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
KEY VERSE: “And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.” Matthew 26:72
Message
This was the first day Daniel attended Church since they T moved into their new house. Daniel was said to have wrapped his Bible neatly with a newspaper. On the way to Church, his classmate, Andy, met him and the following conversation ensued: Andy: “Dan, what are you holding in your hand and where are you going to?” Dan: “It is a book and I am going somewhere.” Andy: “I will follow you I want to know whether you are going to Church.” Dan; “No, I don’t want anybody to know where I am going to.” It should be a thing of joy to identify oneself with Jesus
As a Man, Jesus was faultless and harmless. Even Pontius Pilate said “I have found no fault in this man.” His disciples were also aware that Jesus was innocent. However, out of fear the disciples deserted Him when He was arrested. To add to this betrayal, Peter, who was the leader of the disciples denied His Master. It is not only Peter that denied Christ today, many so called friends of Jesus, deny Him every day. How often have you too denied Jesus? You easily deny Him by your appearance, words and actions. Peter quickly realized his sin and repented. Follow his steps, pray and make up your mind that no matter the shame and the pain that will come, you will never deny Jesus. Remember, those who deny Jesus before men, Jesus will deny them before His Father in heaven.
Lord Jesus, help me that no matter the pain that I will suffer, I will not deny You.

Matthew 10:31-33
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
