DCLM Sincere Milk 3 October 2026 — Is It Well?

DCLM Sincere Milk  3 October 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Is It Well?

Topic: Is It Well?

Bible Reading: 2 Kings 4:17-27 (KJV)

17And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.

18And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.

19And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.

20And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and then died.

21And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door upon him, and went out.

22And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.

23And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? it is neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, It shall be well.

24Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not thy riding for me, except I bid thee.

25So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, yonder is that Shunammite:

26Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

27And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul is vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid it from me, and hath not told me.

KEY VERSE: “Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.” 2 Kings 4:26

Message

The desire of every child is that he should always have enough food to eat, beautiful house to live in, fine clothes to wear and a fine car to take him to school and Church. He wants to live a healthy and happy life all the time with everybody around loving and caring for him. You wish that everyone should give you gifts, smile at you, and praise you.

Also, every child wishes to understand all his subjects and pass his examinations in first position. That is why they are always sad when disappointment and problem come their way. However, life is not always so beautiful. Things don’t always work well all the time, at least, not in this world. Yet, you should give God the glory and please Him more through what you say and do in your time of trouble and disappointment.

The woman in our Bible passage had only one son. That was after she had been barren many years. God had to intervene through His servant, Elisha, before she could give birth to this one. But sadly, that child died. She was speaking in faith believing God was able to make all things well again. In your time of trouble, when it appears as if everything is working against you, go to God in prayer believing and He will cause all things to be well with your soul. He will bless you and be gracious to you

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, hear my prayer and cause everything to work well with me even in my time of difficulties.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
