TOPIC: A BRIGHT FUTURE IN THE EYE OF FAITH

BIBLE TEXT: HEBREWS 11:8-12

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

KEY VERSE: “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went” (Hebrews 11:8).

MESSAGE:

Faith is an important attribute for us to have uncommon success in life. Faith affects what we see and turns the negative to positive. Faith will get for you what natural wisdom, gift and talents will never get for you. Natural eyes will see a future with uncertainties but the eyes of faith will see a pleasant future.

Faith will make you to follow God, even when you don’t know where He is leading you. That was the attitude of Abraham, he embarked on a journey to an unknown destination, trusting that God will never fail.

Providence’s parents were poor farmers in a rural community. His two older brothers were already out of school because there was no money to pay for their school fees.

One day, Providence attended a crusade in their village where he surrendered his life to Christ. He joined the church and continued to serve the Lord. Not too long after this, his parents told him to stop going to school because they could no longer pay his fees.

Providence, who just heard a message in the church titled “Our future is in the hand of God”, trusted God and believed he would not drop out of school no matter the situation. A miracle happened! A Non Governmental Organization (NGO) gave him a scholarship to study through to college. Praise the Lord! Every believer should learn to see a bright future even when the present situation looks impossible. God who holds tomorrow is the one who holds your future.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me to serve You and put my future in Your hands.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
