7 And he that toucheth the flesh of him that hath the issue shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

8 And if he that hath the issue spit upon him that is clean; then he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

9 And what saddle soever he rideth upon that hath the issue shall be unclean.

10 And whosoever toucheth any thing that was under him shall be unclean until the even: and he that beareth any of those things shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

11 And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

Key Verse “And whomsoever he toucheth that hath the issue, and hath not rinsed his hands in water, he shall wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even”(Leviticus 15:11).

MESSAGE:

There’s a saying that, “Cleanliness is next to godliness”. Cleanliness is a mark of godly lifestyle. How is cleanliness related with godliness? It is related because when one is in sin, he is referred to as being dirty or unclean. On the other hand, when one is in Christ he is referred to as being clean.

During the Corona Virus pandemic, the whole world was on lockdown because of the deadly nature of the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO), other relevant world institutions, government of various countries and health institutions issued serious guidelines to stop the spread of the virus. Such instructions and directives included regular washing of hands, use of hand sanitizer, nose mask and social physical distancing among other measures. Cleanliness or personal hygiene became the order of the day. This tells us how important cleanliness is.

Our text shows that God is concerned about cleanliness and separation from defilement among His chosen people. Friends of Jesus should obey the laws on personal hygiene and general health. We should always be clean by taking proper care of our body, washing our hands and clothes to keep germs and bacteria away. God wants us not to be only physically clean but also spiritually clean. As we await the coming of the Lord, we should be clean and holy in our hearts, run away from sin and all the evil and corrupt practices in the world.

Prayer: Lord, help me to maintain cleanliness both physically and spiritually.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
