DCLM Higher Everyday 13 June 2026 — Preach The Word At All Cost
Topic: Preach The Word At All Cost
Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV)
1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
KEY VERSE: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2)
Message
In the period of Queen Mary I of England, popularly referred to as “Bloody Mary,” numerous preachers were executed with burning at the stake for their refusal to give up their faith. To his fellow martyr, Hugh Latimer courageously said, “Be of good comfort, Master Ridley, and play the man; we shall this day light such a candle, by God’s grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.” Christians are still being denied their rights, threatened, imprisoned, tortured or executed outright in some parts of the world.
Paul’s advice to Timothy is still relevant today. Whether it is convenient or not, we must preach the gospel fully. We must remain steadfast even if the world rejects or opposes the truth. Many young people are under pressure to compromise their religious beliefs, but the cost of silence is greater than the cost of speaking up. Remain faithful and share God’s Word courageously. Very soon, our Master who gave the Great Commission, “Go ye,” will come to take us to Himself. What a day of rejoicing that will be!
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, strengthen me to preach Your word faithfully. Amen.
CHALLENGE
Boldly stand for Christ, even when doing so is unpopular.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
