8The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
10Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
11Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

Message
Two people are mentioned in our key verse: one is called “the wicked”, the other is called “the upright.” Both of them go to worship God. They may sit side by side. And when you look at their faces, you may not be able to differentiate between the wicked and the upright. The wicked may even wear a more beautiful dress, sing louder and pray longer than the upright. Yet, our Bible passage concludes that the sacrifice of praise and prayer offered by the wicked, sinful and disobedient child is an abomination and unacceptable to the Lord. But, the simple prayer of the upright or righteous child brings joy to God’s heart and receives answer from Him.
What is in the wicked child that makes his or her praise hateful to God? It is sin: lying, cheating, immoral living and other bad things he does that caused separation between the wicked and God. However, the wicked can become like the upright, loved and accepted by Jesus. He must repent and forsake his wicked ways, and make Jesus his Friend. If you forsake your wicked ways, God will delight in your conduct and prayer. Then He will bless you and make you a blessing.
Please, Lord, forgive me my sins and help me to be a delight to Your heart.
