TOPIC: GREETING IN APPRECIATION

TEXT: Romans 16: 1-7

1I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:

2That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

3Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

4Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

5Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

6Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us.

7Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellow prisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.

Memory Verse: “Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles” (Romans 16: 3-4.)

MESSAGE:

Greeting is an important social skills that exists in every human culture, establishing the mood for interactions. Greetings can communicate acceptance, acknowledgment of one’s importance or contribution and appreciation for that contribution, Paul in our text was greeting his friends in Rome and sending greetings from those with him in Corinth, teaching us the need to greet or saute one another, most importantly. appreciating those who has done well in laboring for God When you greet a man for doing well, he will be encouraged to do more. Thus, greeting in appreciation of good deeds could motivate and encourage others to do greater things for God and humanity.

Instead of criticizing people who are laboring in Gods house, let them feel appreciated Let’s follow the good example of Apostle Paul in appreciating people by simple greetings. Hurts from past relationships might make you hesitant to form new relations However, Jesus was hurt too, so don’t isolate yourself, rather pursue holy relationship with other believers God desires us to express warm greetings towards others- people need attention, affection, appreciation and acceptance.

Qoute: Express worm greetings towards others.

Challenge: Appreciate and
encourage someone today.

Prayer: Help me Lord, to
appreciate those who
make efforts.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
