DCLM Higher Everyday 28 May 2026 — No Need For Fear

DCLM Higher Everyday  28 May 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiNo Need For Fear

Topic: No Need For Fear

Bible Reading: Romans 8:14-17 (KJV)

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

KEY VERSE: “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15).

Message

The consequences of fear make it unreasonable for us to harbour it. Reginald Klimionok says, “Fear has an inhibiting effect on every area of our lives. It limits our actions, our thought processes, the extent of our relationship with others; and our spiritual growth.” Faith is the opposite of fear. It is the power that fosters joy, possibilities and hope, and it helps in fulfilling destiny. On the other hand, fear promotes weakness, anxiety and bondage to sin. It makes one doubt the promises of God. Fear is unhealthy as it makes you more cautious than necessary. The Bible is replete with testimonies of men of faith. Moses crossed the Red Sea with the Israelites by faith. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did not allow fear of death to make them yield to idolatry in Babylon.

Therefore, beloved, fear not. Rather trust in God and in your God-given abilities for constant victory in all you do. Every challenge is an opportunity, every setback a lesson, and every moment a chance to rise above fear to conquer for your Lord.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, take away fear of men or things from me, in Jesus’ name.

CHALLENGE

Do not delay necessary actions due to fear.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
