Topic: Spotting The God Fearing

Text — : Nehemiah 7:1-2

1Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,

2That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.

Key Verse: “That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many” (Nehemiah 7:2).

Message

Anyone that has the fear of God will always radiates the light of God through his or her lifestyle. Such a one can be identified easily in a group within a short time of observation or testing. The Scripture is replete with exemplary young men and women who were spotlighted for standing for God when their faith and loyalty were put to test. Joseph stood out against carnal pleasures. Daniel refused to be hindered from praying to Jehovah God; and Queen Esther put her life on the line in order to save the Israelites in Shushan from destruction. Also, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were spotted out as the only heads that would not bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s golden image.

The sinner lacks the fear of God and so is not able to stand out for holiness and achieve real success. Repentance and total submission to the Lordship of Christ with sound resolution to follow Him regardless of pressures, oppositions, and persecutions are the pathways to being spotted as a God fearing youth. Jesus promised to be with you always even in your trying times.

Quote: The sinner lacks the fear of God

Challenge: Stand out for God while others are giving up.

Prayer for today: O Lord, help me to stand out for you in righteousness.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
