DCLM Sincere Milk 12 June 2026 — Staying Healthy in Spirit, Soul and Body

DCLM Sincere Milk  12 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Staying Healthy in Spirit, Soul and Body

Topic: Staying Healthy in Spirit, Soul and Body

Bible Reading: 3 John 1:1-8 (KJV)

1The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

2Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

3For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

4I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

5Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;

6Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:

7Because that for his name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

8We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.

KEY VERSE: “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2

Message

It is the desire of God, our Creator, that every child be healthy and prosper in spirit, soul and body. But He has set out rules for everyone to follow to enjoy all round wellness. Every child, like adults too, is made up of spirit, soul and body. The spirit and soul are both spiritual and invisible, while the body is physical in nature. The three of them have feelings and emotions. They can feed, be kept well, strong, weak, alive or even die.

To be spiritually prospered, strong, healthy and alive, you must (1) First turn your life over to and be cleansed in the blood of Jesus, (2) Daily read, think on and obey God’s word, (3) Observe your quiet-time regularly, (4) Pray always, (5) Attend church services regularly, (6) Tell sinners about Jesus, (7) Fast and pray when necessary, and (8) Avoid bad companies, bad books, bad cartoons, films and anything that can make your heart and mind dirty.

In addition, you must (1) Eat and drink only healthy foods and drinks. (2) Avoid overeating (3) Sleep at the right time. (4) Cultivate constant hand washing and never dip a dirty finger or object into your mouth. (5) Never get your eyes close to the computer, iPad, Tablet or TV screens. (6) Take your bath and brush your teeth twice daily, (7) Keep away from harmful drugs. Also, remember that Jesus suffered and received stripes (marks of beating) for your healing and claim the promise in prayer of faith.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear Lord, please help me to always follow the rules set out for me to remain healthy and prosper in my spirit, soul and body.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
