TOPIC: The Assignment (DCLM Daily Manna 14 August 2022)
TEXT: Matthew 28:16-20 (KJV)
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
KEY VERSE: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” – (Matthew 28:19,20).
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
Jesus Christ our Lord and Master knew His mission and purpose for living. He knew why He was on earth and He did all that He had to do to get the work done. In the early years of His ministry when some people wanted to make Him king, He refused their offer. He knew He must be at His Father’s business. He faithfully and wholeheartedly carried out His God-given responsibility until the end of His sojourn on earth.
After Christ’s resurrection, He met the disciples in Galilee as promised. But despite all that they witnessed, some of them still doubted the resurrection story. Jesus then affirmed the divine authority that has been conferred on Him by His death. Then He commissioned them to go everywhere to preach, teach and baptize converted people in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. He promised to be with them wherever they go.

The assignment that Jesus gave the Church has not changed. Although much has changed about the world, the mandate to preach the gospel has never changed. Technology has made it easy to carry out the assignment using the social media, radio and television as well as the printed page. Everywhere we go, there is always an opportunity available to talk to someone about Jesus.
Since man has limited time to spend on earth, carrying out this assignment should be our priority. As you labour to bring souls to the Kingdom with consecration and commitment, great will be your reward. Will you be a faithful labourer today?
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
The harvest is much but the labourers are few!

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
