DCLM Sincere Milk 3 February 2023 — The power of the key

DCLM Sincere Milk  3 February 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The power of the key

TOPIC: THE POWER OF THE KEY
Text: Mark 11:20-24

20And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

21And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

22And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Memory Verse
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24

MESSAGE:

Dennis was hungry and his mom gave him the key to the house, so he could go and eat the food she had prepared. Instead of inserting the key into the door’s lock and turn it to open the door, he knocked, pushed the door and started to hit the door.
After some time, he started crying and calling his mom. Dennis starved and suffered hunger because he refused to use the key in his hand.

A key is usually a metal instrument by which the bolt of a lock is turned to either open or close the door. The door answers and responds to the power of the key, no matter the size or type of the door. Faith in God is the key that opens every door and solves every problem. Jesus said in Mark 9:23 “… If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Praying with faith in God and His word is what brings answer to prayers.
Crying, shouting, complaining or begging do not solve problems.
Just as the size of the door does not matter when you have the key, likewise the size of the problem does not matter, what matters is your faith in God. Is there a need, or problem in your life or that of your loved ones? Believe God’s promises, pray to God, keep believing and praying irrespective of contrary circumstance. Use that key of faith and all the problems would go.

Prayer:
Dear Father, help me to believe, stand on Your promises and pray in faith from now on in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
