TOPIC: THE SEED

BIBLE TEXT: MATTHEW 13:3-9

3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;

4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:

6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.

7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:

8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

KEY VERSE: “But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold” (Matthew 13:8).

MESSAGE:

A seed is the small, hard part of a plant from which a new plant grows. It usually comes in different shapes and sizes. The seed could grow and develop into a new plant if it has access to basic ingredients such as soil, water and sunlight. With these ingredients, the seed grows into a plant that would provide fruits such as apples, oranges, mangoes, etc., from which fruit juice could be made.

Just like seeds, friends of Jesus need certain things to grow and become all that God wants them to be. Would you like to grow up and be a successful boy or girl? If yes, then there are important things you must give attention to.

(i) Read your Bible every day. The Bible is the word of God. It is powerful, it cleanses and helps us to overcome.

(ii) Spend some time to talk to God in prayer. When you pray, you receive strength to be victorious.

(iii) Attend a church where the whole truth of the word of God is taught and practiced.

(iv) Tell others about the love of Jesus.

Now that you know these things, make up your mind to practice them every day. This is the way to sow good seed so as to reap bountiful blessings.

PRAYER: O God, please help me to grow and be like Jesus.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
