DCLM Sincere Milk 16 April 2026 — The Testament And The Testator

DCLM Sincere Milk  16 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiThe Testament And The Testator

Topic: The Testament And The Testator

Bible Reading: Hebrews 9:11-17 (KJV)

11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

MEMORY VERSE: “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” Hebrews 9:16

Message

Phil grew up in an orphanage after losing his parents in an auto crash. Initially, one of his uncles took him in but later abandoned him because he was an additional responsibility with nothing to offer. He cried day and night for God’s mercies and provisions because they were always short on supplies.

In answer to his prayers one day, two men visited the orphanage from a law firm outside the country saying they have been mandated to bring him to come and possess his parents’ fortunes abroad. As a matter of fact, they had been looking for him. Amongst other things were several mansions, fleet of cars and a business empire which he never knew existed. These all became his to possess at the death of his parents.Jesus died for our sins on the cross and had promised abundant life for anyone who believes and turns away from his/her sinful life.

Jesus has given each of His children a will which gives him/her right to all the blessings written in His word. This is activated by His death on the cross. He is the Testator of the New Testament. Write out what you want the Lord to do for you. You have an open cheque. Jesus’ death settles it all.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, please help me to be able to access all that has been freely given me by Jesus.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
