Message

Waiting for answers to our prayers requires faith and patience. When we pray to God, He listens to our requests, hears our voices and responds to our cries. God’s answer may not come at the time we expect but it will surely come. Worry and anxiety will not make God hasten the answers. He works with His own timing.

Ethel was a nine year old girl who usually go with public bus to school every day. On a particular day, she planned to get to school earlier than the usual time. When she got to the bus station, she realized that she was early and the bus had not arrived because it had a scheduled time. She started to pace up and down, grumbling and complaining that the bus took a long time to arrive. All that did not change the arrival time of the bus. She soon realized that she was merely stressing herself instead of patiently awaiting the arrival of the bus.

We sometimes find ourselves in this kind of situation. We pray and worry, fret, grumble and complain when the answer to our prayers does not come as early as we desire. God has a set time for the answer to your prayer. Be steadfast in waiting on God. He will answer at the set time, as your anxiety will not rush God into action.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

God, please teach me to be patient while waiting for answers to my prayers.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
