Message
Many people wander about in this world in despair without hope of eternal life. They are ignorant of their unfortunate condition in sin and Satan’s oppression. The star gazers, soothsayers, and fortune tellers have deceived a lot of them. Others have joined themselves to the occult and wizards, who promise to deliver them from enemies. They seek for power, where there is none. However, God’s ways are clearly defined in the Scriptures, His oracles. Matthew Henry said, “The laying up of God’s oracles in our hearts will be of excellent use to us in all our conduct.”
Friend, are you walking in God’s ways or in the way of the world and Satan? You are in good company when you walk in God’s ways. Yes, in the company of Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Daniel, Peter, Paul and a host of others. God’s ways, ensure victory. Defilement is strange to all who walk in His ways. You begin this victorious journey by salvation through Jesus Christ who empowers us to go and sin no more.
Quote: God’s ways ensure victory
Challenge: God’s power keeps you on the way of true freedom.
Prayer for today: Oh God, lead me in your ways, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
