TOPIC: Walking Upon High Places (DCLM Daily Manna 20 July 2022)

TEXT: Habakkuk 3:16-19 (KJV)

16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.

17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

KEY VERSE: “The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.” – (Habakkuk 3:19).

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The fact that God is capable of sustainably equipping the righteous to stand strong on privileged positions for a life-time is heart-warming and elicits praise of the most High in the believer. For Prophet Habakkuk, the Lord God should be praised who has strapped him with the strength of a deer to run and leap unto safety in all life battles.

There are different ‘high places’ open to men. There are human, divine and satanic high places but those that delight themselves in the Lord, will He cause to ride upon the high places of the earth and feed them with the heritage of Jacob (Isaiah 58:14).

The Scripture is replete with examples of godly men and women who trusted the living God and were lifted to privileged positions in life. The greatest of the believer’s promotions in life is the exaltation to sit with Christ Jesus as joint-heirs in heavenly places. As citizens of a highly exalted Kingdom, we now operate above principalities, authorities and powers that exist anywhere within and outside the universe.

We must herald this fact abroad and engage men on stringed instruments to help us praise the Lord, and make His works and wonders known in all lands. Of a truth, the Lord will make us walk upon the high places of the earth as we set our heart and affections towards Him and His glory.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Godliness exalts a man.

THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Exodus 12-16

Prayer Points:

  1. Praise God because His will for you to be rejoicing will be done as it is done in heaven.
  2. Ask God to clothe you with the garment of joy and praise that will always make the evil “diviners mad”.
  3. Ask God to visit those brethren putting on the garment of mourning the spirit of joy.
  4. Ask for the joy of the Lord that will empower and catapult all crusade participants to walk upon their high and hard places.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
