TOPIC: GUARANTEED ANSWERS FROM GOD

TEXT: 1 JOHN 5:13-15

13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

MEMORY VERSE: “And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 JOHN 5:15).

MESSAGE:

In Kenneth Copeland Ministries Blog, three guarantees that God will answer the prayers of His children are given with scriptural support. They are the name of Jesus, the word of God and the Holy Spirit. They are to pray in the name of Jesus, anchor their prayer to God’s infallible promises and have confidence in the Holy Spirit to move into action.

Our Bible text amplifies one of the basic ingredients in a prayer that will receive an undeniable answer from God. The prayer must be in agreement with the will of God. It means the request must not oppose God’s word.

For example, a lazy student praying to get first position in his/her exam is not praying according to the word of God that requires him/her to be diligent in his/her studies. But let a hardworking student prepare for celebration after praying in faith in the name of Jesus for good success because he/she has prayed according to the will of God. Only sin can hinder the prayer of faith.

QUOTE: The request must not oppose God’s word.

CHALLENGE: Let your requests agree with God’s word.

PRAYER: Let Your will be done in my life, Lord.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
