DCLM Higher Everyday 8 November 2026 — Who Do You Follow?
Topic: Who Do You Follow?
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:1-2 (KJV)
1Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
KEY VERSE: “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
Message
The question “Who do you follow?” is vital because it shapes our values, decisions, and ultimately our destiny. The most important person to follow is Jesus Christ, who is the perfect example of righteousness, love, sacrifice, and truth. Jesus Himself said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12b). This means that following Christ guides us away from sin and confusion and into a life full of purpose, wisdom, and eternal hope. When we follow Him, we embrace His teachings, live by His commandments, and reflect His character in our daily lives.
Many young people today follow celebrities, politicians, or influencers who may not align with biblical values. While it’s not wrong to admire others, we must ask ourselves, are they leading us closer to God or drawing us away from Him? Following Christ means surrendering our desires, seeking His will, and walking with Him by faith. When we follow Him, we find true peace, purpose, and everlasting life. So, who do you follow? The choice is yours.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord! Please help me to follow You till the end.
CHALLENGE
Surrender your life to Christ.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
