DCLM Sincere Milk  17 June 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — A Clean Heart is Possible!

Topic: A Clean Heart is Possible!

Bible Reading: Psalm 51:1-7 (KJV)

1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.) Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

2Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

3For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

4Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

5Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

6Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

KEY VERSE: “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7

Message

Wow”! Nancy exclaimed when she saw how her white dress became very clean after her mom washed it. Nancy had soiled her dress with tomato sauce while eating. She never believed the cloth would ever be white and clean again.

Sin makes the heart dirty and the sinner unqualified for heaven. Although we can wash our clothes and dishes, only Jesus has the power to wash the heart and make it clean. The blood He shed on the cross of calvary for our sins washes whiter than snow.

Friend, why would you continue with that dirty heart? Are you not tired of the guilt and danger of sin? Jesus is waiting at the door of your heart, to forgive and cleanse you of all outward sins. He is also ready to sanctify and purify your heart of all inward sin like: unforgiveness, jealousy, selfishness etc. He will then give you perfect love for Him, which makes it easier to obey Him. Nancy surrendered her dirty cloth to her mom for washing. You should surrender your heart to Jesus too. God will do it for you. Close your eyes and ask Him now.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear God, I surrender to You. Please forgive, cleanse and purify my heart.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
